Reservation refund

We booked 4 reservations on a Eurostar service from Cologne to Brussels on 2 August 2026. This service was cancelled but we have not received the reservation fee refund. I raised a Delay Compensation Request ticket on 27 August having failed to get a response to emails. I have not heard anything from Interrail since an acknowledgement that the response would take longer on 31 August. The ticket is #1536752

Where did you book the reservation?

Did you travel at all? Normally, Eurostar must rebook you in whatever train and class that has free seats.

In any case, if you didn’t travel, then the refund must be done within 30 days after the request, which is now just over.

@Interrail Community Moderator Is there any progress in clearing the backlog?

We booked the reservations through the Interrail app. The train was cancelled with no notification from Eurostar due to a derailment near the German border. We rebooked ourselves onto the morning Deutsche Bahn train instead. It was really frustrating that Eurostar knew the train was cancelled and neither they nor Interrail communicated what we should do.

Interrail doesn't send notifications, but Eurostar had your data and should have.

You cannot book anything in the Rail Planner app. It can only forward to some of the websites where you can book. For Eurostar, they propose the Interrail website and B-Europe (there are more).
