Nightjet train Amsterdam to Zurich alternative options

Hi,

We are scheduled to travel from Amsterdam Centraal to Zurich HB on Oct 2nd on the NightJet train. We had even bought the coach/ seat reservation (for IC 60403) but recieved an email saying “connection from Amsterdam to Zurich has changed. Click here to find alternative transport if necessary”.

  1. I cannot find sufficient information on this particular train. I can see that the actual NightJet train NJ403 still appears on NS international website (but not IC 60403). The trains are not on OBB website or on Interrail app. Does this mean the train is definitively cancelled? I talked with NS international who suggested I call OBB. I tried calling OBB but their customer service is only in German which I unfortunately do not speak, so have not been able to get past the automated service.
  2. What are our other options for this leg that involves night travel? The alternative options that we have found all include 3+ transfers often in the middle of the night which we would like to avoid.

Any advice would be very helpful! Thanks in advance!

ÖBB customer service is also in English.

What the Rail Planner app shows or doesn't show is irrelevant. It is known to be incomplete and often out of date. Always look at the operators’ information and only use the Rail Planner app to manage your pass.

The operators of IC 60403 are NS, DB and SBB. NJ 403 is operated by NS, ÖBB and SBB.

DB show IC60403 for Amsterdam to Frankfurt. For Frankfurt to Zurich, DB suggest to take an S-Bahn to Frankfurt Süd and then IC 60408. So that would make 2 changes for Amsterdam-Zurich.

If you'd like a reservation on IC 60408, then contact the place where you booked the reservation. Since your train is partly cancelled, they have to rebook you on an alternative free of charge if you would like that (reservation is optional). Alternatively, you can book a reservation yourself and claim back the additional expenses afterwards.

You're also entitled to compensation for delay from Interrail if your arrival in Zurich is at least 1 hour after the arrival time you have on your reservation for IC 60403.

So Freiburg (Breisgau) - Basel is closed that weekend. I assume they will divert either the Berlin or Hamburg night train via Singen to Zurich. Expect different departure/arrival times.

NJ403/IC60403 seems cancelled between Amsterdam - Utrecht and Frankfurt - Zurich. The latter cancellation is also happening during next weekend’s closure.
