Rail strikes in Belgium will impact train travel from 10 pm (22:00) on Sunday, October 11 to 10 pm (22:00) on Monday, October 12. Due to the strike, a limited number of trains will be running, and alternative train services will operate in accordance with SNCB-NMBS’s staff availability.

We recommend checking the Rail Planner App or the SNCB Timetable, before departing for your planned journey for up-to-date train times. To find out more about the strike, please read the SNCB-NMBS strike announcement

Please note that the Rail Planner app is not up to date and just shows the regular timetable. It pretends to be real-time by showing some delays, but cancelled trains are also shown. Two examples I came across while planning a journey for myself:

  1. Ottignies - Leuven: the last train on 11/10 does not run (Ottignies dep. 23:13); it was not in the alternative timetable and therefore not shown at all:

The Rail Planner app shows the normal timetable, which includes trains that won't run:

  2. Brussel-Noord - Leuven: the last train at 00:31 on 12/10 doesn't run. It was in the alternative timetable, but cancelled later:

The Rail Planner app shows it without any warning:

Please do not recommend unreliable planners.
