Trouble Finding Trains in France for December

Hello. My partner and I have selected 1st class Interrail passes for our December holiday to France. I’ve waited until 30 September (as advised) to book, however still cannot find any trains to book along our proposed journey. Paris - Reims - Strasbourg - Colmar - X - Toulouse - Bordeaux - Paris

You can already find some connections looking them up directly on the website of sncf. But it seems they are not yet in the timetable of the railplanner app.

For reservation it looks like allaboard.eu is already selling them. (they also have the lowest reservation fee (1€ on top of the reservation cost) of any place selling them online as far as i am aware)

Yes, this is exactly the problem. I understood that bookings could be made within 90 days and that some trains in December will only be available on 30 September. We bought a First Class pass thinking this would help us secure train bookings, but we’re still not seeing anything on 4 October. Thank you for your message validating our experience so far.

Nothing wrong with booking the reservations on allaboard.eu. (unless you have a plus pass with included reservations) Just turn on the checkmark that you have an interrailpass and make sure to switch them to fist class to profit from your 1class pass

Where are you looking? Timetables have been published on the SNCF website and trains can be booked, except on the Interrail website, because they're always late. You should be able to book elsewhere, e.g. on Allaboard or Rail Europe (see this page). If you still can't find a train, then please mention route and date.

Thank you. The SNCF site is only showing one train from Paris to Reims on 18 December. I know there are earlier ones, but they still are not showing.

Do you know why this is such a challenge? We don’t have this game in Australia.

It’s just the way it works. The whole European timetable has its annual change in December, and then the operators are slower than others in managing it.

Good explanation here

I see many more trains (filtered for direct trains only):

They can all be booked on allaboard.eu and raileurope.com.
