Vaduz - recommendation what to do

Hi! Next week I’m going to Zurich and will take a day trip to Vaduz (Liechtenstein). I figured that it’s more adventurous to use the pass and see Vaduz for half-day. My challenge is what to do there on Friday from around 10:00 to 14:00. Any recommendation please? I will be traveling with my 64yo mom. thank you!

Please be aware that Vaduz has no trainstation. The closest station is Sevelen in Switzerland but you need to take a bus from there (not included in interrail), or walk 45 mins.

Beside that, Vaduz is rather boring.

If you want to visit Liechtenstein, you better go to the mountains. (Which means more additional costs for bus and cablecars). But your 4h are probably to limited for that.

If you want to have a fun trip to the east, maybe you better go to Lake Constance, to Lindau and Bregenz. Or just to St. Gallen (not by the lake), and take some excursion in Appenzell area.

Thank you!! I decided to take a bus from Sargans so that should be doable… I will also look into cable cars in Liechtenstein as well. My original plan is to take cable car in Unterterzen (Switzerland) because then I could see Walensee from above..

yes the bus from Sargans is probably the fastest option!

not a bad idea! the cabelcar in Unterterzen is quite spectacular with its steep section. On the “top” the view is limited, but during the cablecar ride you see a lot.

Another idea to see the Walensee from above could be to take the bus from Ziegelbrücke to Arvenbühl and have a walk to scenic spot “Chapf”
