I would like to travel from Rotterdam to Pairs on 26 Dec 2024 and I have bought 10 days EU Rail Flexi global pass.  What is the earliest date I can book a seat on EUR 9322?  Do I have to book it through EU Rail website please?  How much time do I need to allow for checking before boarding please?  Many thank

Currently in Sofia and intending to travel to Bucharest on Thursday 19th September 2024. At the international ticket office in Sofia railway station we reserved seats on the service as far as Ruse on the border. When we enquired with them about seat reservations for the leg from Ruse to Bucharest they said they didn’t know anything about it.The Romanian railways website is difficult to work with and appears to indicate there are no places on the train at all that day which seems strange.Does anybody know how I can book seat reservations on this Ruse to Bucharest train 460 in advance and from Sofia?

We (retired Canadian couple) are thinking of a train trip leaving Vienna in Mid November and then travelling through Italy to Sicily, 2 weeks in Sicily (Palermo as base or ???) then on to northern Spain and end up in Bucharest for Xmas then back to Vienna for New Year..any thoughts?  Ferry to Palermo from Civitavecchia? then back to Civitavecchia and ferry to Barcelona (advice please.. is it advisable in winter ?) . San Sebastian, Bilbao or ?? in northern Spain (2 weeks so somewhere that’s a good jumping off point) then to somewhere in France (tips please), Turin then Lubljanana and on to Bucharest.  We speak Italian, French,and basic German and Spanish.  Any advice much appreciated. Weather isn’t much of a concern as we live in Newfoundland so anything that isn’t rain drizzle or fog is a bonus.

I am flying into Paris CDG in on oct 17 2024. I have purchased a first class one month country pass for France. I arrive at Paris CDG at around 12:30 pm and would like to take the train from Paris Gare Montparnasse. It takes about 1:05 min to get from Paris CDG to Gare Paris Montparnasse.   The eurail website says I need a reservation to board the train to Bordeaux at Gare Paris Montparnasse. I am uncertain if my flight will arrive on time so am unsure what train to book my reservation on. Is there usually enough room on the train so that I could make a reservation at Paris CDG when I arrive and know when I will get to Gare Paris Montparnass?

Hello fellow travellers. This is my first time considering a Eurail pass and I'm specifically looking at the Sweden Flexi Pass or Global Flexi Pass. I am not sure if I am getting the correct information online so would appreciate it if someone can help confirm this.  Can I use the Sweden Flexi Pass and Global Flexi Pass on the overnight Vy Nattag to Kiruna? I am yet to  decide between the two but would appreciate some clarity on the validity.  For overnight train, am I correct that only the day of boarding will be counted as one day? 

I'm deciding whether to use an interrail pass or buy regular tickets for next summer. Using existing timetables as a general guide. I know these will be updated but I just want to get an idea of costs etc. If I use the interrail pass it says there are two supplements to pay on the return journey (part of our return leg is Amsterdam to London). It requires a supplement for Amsterdam to Brussels and then again for Brussels to London. Can the Amsterdam to Brussels supplement be avoided? (Travelling on a Thursday in August 2025) On the outward leg of the journey (July) there is just one supplement (Eurostar) and one train covering the  same distance - ie London to Amsterdam (direct, no change in Brussels). (We're then going further north and traveling around the netherlands.) Thank you!

In under a week I will be travelling to Venice from the UK via Switzerland.   It would seem that the weakest link in my journey is a train from Tirano to Milan.   The line has only recently reopened following a month of engineering work, but many trains are currently arriving more than 45 minutes late.  I’ve now selected an earlier train from Tirano which should leave me ample time to catch my connection to Venice  even with a 45 minute delay.  I haven’t, however, allowed for 2 hour delays which have occcasionally been occuring!My question is - what do I do if I miss my connection - as trains from MIlan to Venice have compulsory reservations?   Can I use the interrail app to purchase last minute seat reservations for a later train?  (I read somewhere that seat reservations on the day can only be purchased from ticket offices.  Hopefully this was just wrong.)If I do miss my train is there anything I can do to get a refund for my original seat reservation, given that the fault would lie

I am staying in Poggio Somavilla in Collevecchio and need to be at Rome Fiumicino airport at 10:00 on Thursday morning (19/09).  The first train from Collevecchio Poggio Somavilla station is at 07:52 arriving at the airport station at about 09:45.  As the trains are scheduled hourly if that train does not run for any reason the next train would be the 08:52 which arrives at the airport too late!  :(   Are the regional trains in Italy sufficiently reliable to make an airport connection?  (As it is the first train of the day there is no option to get an earlier train!) :(

I have purchased 2 30 Day passes for an upcoming trip in December ‘24, can I enter the pass info into the Eurail pass and start planning my trains without activating the passes yet?

We will be taking the train from Tirano to Milan on Wednesday 18th September and plan to catch the 10:08.   I have put my ticket onto my pass.  However when I try to do this with my wife’s pass it only shows the 9:08 or 11:08 trains.  I think the 10:08 is a newly installed train following the engineering works on the line throughout August.  As I recall the 10:08 wasn’t visible on my phone either until September.Suggestions, please about what I should do to enter the correct train on my wife’s app. Thanks,Peter

Eg Best for availability of tickets, prices (if not using interrail pass, though I think it will work out cheaper to use one), and how busy the trains are etc?many thanks.

Pass Activation: Once I activate a pass, does it continue into the next day or I have to manually activate/deactivate the pass for any given day? I have a 5 day pass and cannot afford to waste any day due to my mistake with the pass activation.2. Journey Coverage: Will my day pass cover the journey from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen, Grutschalp, Murren, and back?3. Additional Stops: Can I also include Wildersel and Wengen in my journey using the same pass?4. Single-Day Itinerary: Is it possible to visit all the places mentioned in points 2 and 3 in a single day? How should I plan the itinerary? Hi all,This isn’t actually a journey I will actually be using my pass for (it’s too cheap!), but it does form part of a larger Interrail trip so I hope I’m not abusing the forum too much by asking this…I’m planning to take a couple of trains in Bulgaria late next month, but I don’t know how reliable the information on the BDZ website is at the moment (I know it is complicated by the major works going on around Sofia station), and I’m really just looking for reassurance that I’ll be able to get a seat if I buy a ticket at the station on the day.When I messaged BDZ themselves, they just sent an automated response saying that trains could only be booked 5 days in advance, so I’ve got that bit. But I still have a couple of questions about the two specific trains I plan to take.Firstly, the BV7625 from Vidin to Sofia; this does appear within the 5 day window, but apparently only has one 2nd class carriage? We are taking a night train from Budapest to Craiova in October 5th.  There has been a constant glitch in the system and although a couchette option shows as available when I am logged out, it disappears when I am logged in.  After multiple conversations with Eurasia customer service they said it’s a tech glitch and recommend getting a reservation at the station. This is making me nervous as I don’t want to be stuck without a reservation.does anyone know how busy this rail line is on October and what are my chances of booking a couchette in the station?I’ve only been in Europe in July before and most beds were sold out mid summer, so I have no frame of reference for October. Here are screenshots showing the couchette (when I’m logged out) and then showing only seats when logged in.any help appreciated.   

Hello,4 of us will be doing a 3 week trip in Europe next May and using the trains to get around.  On a direct route I see some trains need seat reservations and some do not, while the travel time is the same.  Is there an advantage to the trains that have seat reservations vs the ones that do not?  One example I looked at the seat reservations were about $65 each. I attached a picture as an example.  We will be getting a 1st class global ticket.  Thanks!!! 

Hello Team, I want to travel from Venice St Lucia to Interlaken same day but it seems like it would be good to break the day by stopping at Milano central and then continuing to Interlaken. Couple of questions then1)From Venice to Milano central on a pass network there is a 5 min change over at VERONA PORTA NUOVA, is it doable for 2 adults + 2 kids (8,11)?2) Any better suggestion to plan trip from Venice St Lucia to Interlaken (without using the seat reservation)?Thanks for the help team

Showyour credentials on board.”The ticket does have a bar code so will the checker would also ask to see this trip in my rail planner app or just scanning the barcode on the ticket would be enough for the ticket checker?
