a friend just booked a train route using Trainline app, from Minden, Germany to Basel, Switzerland with 1 transfer in Dortmund on July 20. I went on Eurail to see if I could add this trip to my multi-day Eurail pass so we could be on the same trains when traveling. However, the trains my friend booked don’t show up in Eurail app or eurail.com at all. How can I see if I need a reservation for these trains or ensure that I get on the same trains as my friend. Will my eurail multi day pass not work for these trains? I am confused as to why they are not on the app. I could go on trainline and buy the tickets but would prefer to use eurail multi day pass for this trip instead. help please!

Hello, I plan to travel from Copenhagen to Oslo via Goteborg on July 18th. I have a first class interrail ticket 5 days in one month. I wanted to make a reservation since the forecast on the VY website is from “usually quite full” to “usually standing”. But it is not possible (chat with entur). I have to buy an ordinary ticket to be able to make a seat reservation 😕. Unfortunatly I am not very flexible and being 64 I rather don’t want to stand for almost 4 hours. Does anybody know how the chances are to get a seat? Thanks for any helpful advice!

Hello I have a rather simple question for the comunity please.   This concerns using my eurail pass on swiss trains. I haven’t activated nor used my global eurail pass yet, and wish to know when I book a particular train time if I am committed to travel on that actual train, or, if I can travel on any train that same day?   I see from the sbb app that if I pay for a journey with a credit card, the ticket is valid on any train on the same route until 0500 the following day. What I need to know if this Is rule also applys when using my global eurail pass? Thank you,   bodetteplant

I an travelling through Germany, Austria, France and Belgium during December. I have a first class global pass. Wondering if you would recommend purchasing seat reservations, even when not compulsory, at this time ? 

I am looking to travel from London  - Armsterdam -  Paris - Geneva- Interlaken - Venice.what is the best in term of budget and time? Eurail looks expensive due to additioanl reservarion charges. Time wise, flights could be faster but again, airport, check -ins etc could make it same.Has anyone done the maths? i am finding it very confusing. Any experienced travellers input would be much appreciated.TIA

I have 7 days Global Pass. How can I reserve LNER train seat to Edinburgh? I am looking to travel on 1st OctoberLNER website is showing the seats when I try to purchase those, but just for seat reservations there are no seat available on that day. Is there another way to reserve the seats?

Going from agen to venice/austria.  Will need good stopping point.  Maybe soend one day there.  All ideas and recommendations welcome.also, cherbourg to agen.  Is it viable to avoid paris?

Hiya! Looking for some thoughts/suggestions on my whirlwind itinerary I’m putting together. I’m coming from Canada, I’m volunteering at the Olympic and Paralympics in Paris. I have a little stretch off between that my husband is going to come so we can go on an adventure. I have a 5 day eurail pass. We’re looking to travel Aug 12-17/18Aug 12 - Start in Paris, Leave early - Stop in Brussels for the day and head to Amsterdam in the evening.Aug 12-14 in Amsterdam. Head to Berlin on the 14th morning. Aug 14-16 in Berlin. Head to Munich on the 16th in the morning.Aug 17 - Munich to Bern, then Bern to Paris in the evening. I’m super inexperienced with planning any train trips as Canada is severely lacking, and I’ve never been to Europe. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated! We aren’t held to any of these locations as I haven’t booked any hostels or train reservations. Thanks!!Krista

hello! what could be the best possible route so the travel time is much shorter? was hoping for longer train rides for lesser stops and transfers.

I have seen on the SBB website that there is a direct train from Lugano to Venice Santa Lucia which leaves Lugano at 10:30, arriving Venice at 14:42.  It is a train from Zurich.  However the train does not appear on the Interrail app.       Can anyone explain why?Peter 

I am from the Netherlands and am planning to travel to Lisbon - Porto - Barcelona - Lyon - Utrecht. However, the interrail website doesn't make it easy to understand wheter (or not) I can book the seat reservations online.The Lisbon →  Porto train seems to be booked at the station, since these trains go regularly this should not be a problem.We were also planning on traveling from Porto to Barcelona, on the 9th of July, going:Porto Campanha → Vigo Guixar 8:13 → 11:35Vigo Urzaiz → Madrid Chamartin 13:20 → 17:36Madrid Puerto de Atocha → Barcelona-Sants 19:00 → 21:30. In Vigo we could walk to the other station, in Madrid we should take the metro.However, at the moment i cannot book these seat reservations online at interrail. Is that correct, as the website states it should be possible for the AVE, Euromed & Alvia trains? If not, and i should book seat reservations at the counter, how hard is that in the summer? I have some cities I want to visit, but I don't want to plan everything in advance, as I want to be flexible if I like a city or when I meet some nice people. What is the difference between Global pass and Europass? Can they be used in all countries?

I wondered if anyone could kindly help me? I’m a dual Irish-British citizen born in London, grown up in London and living in London. I understand that I need to buy an Interrail pass, rather than a Eurail one - that’s pretty clear to me from this link: https://www.interrail.eu/en/support/interested-in-interrailing/do-i-need-an-interrail-or-eurail-pass It also says here ‘If you're a legal resident of Europe but not a citizen, we ask for your country of residence when you place an order.’ This also makes sense. However this implies that if you are a citizen of Europe, they won’t ask for your country of residence? But then it says ‘If you have more than one passport or official residency (dual citizenship), the Pass you use must be based on where you actually live: If you have 2 European passports, use the passport or national identity card (I

I tried to book the sleeper train on Polrail from Budapest to Krakow but they are only giving me a mail or pick up in Poland option for the tickets.  I cannot do either.  I am looking to book a ticket in 2.5 weeks.  I am looking to book one double couchette and one triple for myself and my kids. I tried trainline and that didnt offer me the option of plugging in my Eurail pass for priceresuction; I tried OBB and that didn’t offer me the option of booking a couchette; and I tried MAV and that too didn’t offer me the option of booking a couchette.  HELP!
