Hello everyone,I have a question as I’m making my train reservations for Europe.I have a Eurail Global Pass and trying to make a seat reservation on Eurostar from London to Paris. But then I noticed Eurail reservation page doesn’t show certain times on the list but found Rail Europe has them available.For example, Eurail site doesn’t show 12:31pm - 16:01pm, but it shows up on RailEurope search.I want to check if this is neglected on Eurail side and nothing wrong with RailEurope as it shows up on Eurostar site as well.Thank you.

HelloMy wife and I are doing a bucket list 8 week tour of Europe in a few months time.  We have purchased a Eurail Global Pass with 15 train days 1st Class to use in 2 months, we are flying into London from New Zealand, then using Eurail to go to France, Belgium, Germany, Czechia, Austria, Switzerland then Italy, and fly home from Rome.Train Seat Reservations are a confusing issue.  Some sites say you must have them for Eurostar, France & Italy, not elsewhere.  Others say just hop on and choose your seat.  I don't want to pay for something I don't really need or is not required.My biggest question is when to purchase a seat reservation?  We are still a few months out, I have bought the train tickets, when do I need to book and pay for seat reservations, now, one month prior, or the day before travel?All advice most appreciated.  Cheers, KiwiPete

Hello everyone,I need to choose between a mobile or paper pass. I need to buy it now, because it’s a gift but I need 2 informations:the date of issue can be different of the date of purchase in the paper pass. But is it the same in the mobile pass ans how? Because no date to enter when buying it... the number of the ID card will change because it expire between the purchase and the travel, is it the same approach and cost with paper or mobile pass?Thanks

Dear Eurail community,I have bought a Global Pass. Could you please share one or more recommendations for the route Freiburg (Germany) - Roma? The idea is:Freiburg - Milano: here’s where I need the recommendation.Milano - Roma: it’s easy, just a direct Frecciarossa, I don’t have doubts here. For Freiburg - Milano, I read in this forum that the EC 151 is often delayed, and SBB has been lately strict with delayed trains coming from Germany. So, I could take other options. I could do Freiburg - Basel - Milano. Freiburg - Basel is quite easy. The main doubt/advice needed is for Basel - Milano as I read in the forum more than one option, but considering that later I’m going to Rome (in the same day) I’d like to see what recommendations you would have. Thanks in advance! 🚃

Hi, I’m from Austria and planing to travel from Salzburg to Germany. If i remember correctly, there were some problems with the mobile pass and border station within the country of residence. Will i have problems with the mobile pass and choosing Salzburg as beginning station or is this problem already solved? (As a one country pass doesn’t include the home country)  Or is there any work around?

Hi there, I’m currently booking seat reservations after purchasing my eurail pass for this summer. I’ve managed to buy 2, but a couple of others I’m trying to buy pops up with a message saying “no price results were found” does anyone know what this means or what I do in this situation?

Hi!I would like to travel to the UK in May and want to take the Eurostar from Rotterdam to London. I can only see that the seat reservation can be made with my Interrail ticket, but what if I buy the ticket and all the trains are fully booked (since its a busier period). Is it possible to cancel my Interrail ticket in that case?Cheers!

Hi everyone, I booked a ticket for 1 April from Aachen to Bordeaux which would travel through Belgium, I received an email stating that this journey is cancelled due to strike action in Belgium, the only other option I can find is from Aachen to Frankfurt, and then from Frankfurt to Bordeaux, it does make the journey longer, but it is still manageable, not having travelled much by train in Europe before I would just like to find out any comments if this is a workable solution, departures further north of Frankfurt still use the route through Belgium, welcome any advice, thanks Andre - South Africa

Get continues pass for 22 or 30 days.  or is there any other better option ? My understanding is - local transportation in these cities would not be covered in continues pass.  Your feedback & suggestions a

Hi everyone! I’m hearing mixed things about whether seat reservations are required in the UK. I will be traveling from London to York and then from York to Edinburgh in August 2025. Does anyone know whether I will need to have seat reservations?I’m also having trouble booking seat reservations from Amsterdam to Ghent, Beliguim (also in August). It says that they may all be booked up. It seems like that would be very early to book up but, if that’s the case, does anyone know how else I can make that trip?Thank you!

Hi everyone!I am desperatly looking for train connections between France and Portugal.I am planning a trip with my son and we will be having to go back an forth a bit inbetween Lissabon/Coimbra and Biarritz/San Sebastian … or somewhere around there.The perfect connection would have been this “Southexpress” from Hendaye to Lissabon but that doesnt seem to exist anymore? And so far I couldnt find any satisfying alternative. I would love to avoid having to take a bus.The interrail-search engine doesn’t really help, as it seem to be unable to find any connections in that area.Does anyone have more informations abot this?Thanks in advance!Catharina

An itinerary was previously suggested to me for a route from Geneva to Naples, the first leg of which is Geneva to Domodossola.I am trying to book this.  Firstly, I thought because the journey starts in Switzerland, there would be no reservation fee.  Bahn.de shows a fee of €5.20 each, but I cannot proceed with the purchase,  i cant buy on obb and Rail Europe states seat reservation is to be bought at the station, quoting no fee.Firstly, how do i buy at the station?  We arrive in Geneva the night before, so could we buy it then, or must it be purchased on the day?Are there normally queues at the ticket offices at 7:00am, or are they even open?My language skills are basic, so being able to buy with minimal conversational interaction is preferable, which is why i wanted to buy onlineAdvice would be appreciated, thanks. 

Im Planning on taking the Night Train EN 443 Slovakia/ EN 406 in August 2025. I figured i have to book the seat reservation on CD but when I'm looking for the train it sends me to a "Special Page" which is the same once I pick English as the language again. Looking for the same connection in may 2025 gives me the option to book a ticket or seat reservation. Does anyone have experience if these tickets are sold out or just not yet available? Thanks in advance

Hi! I wanna travel to Italy this summer (for 1 week - Bologna, Florence, Bari) and then go to the greek islands from there (for 2 weeks). Afterwards, for two weeks I would like to travel to Italy (Venice, Triest), Croatia (Rijeka, Zagreb) and Hungary (Budapest). And from there back to my home in Germany. Which passes would you recommend? And, most importantly: which greek island pass do I need to take the ferry from Italy to Greece? Is it included in the 4 days pass / global pass or do I need the 6 days greek island pass?Thanks a lot for your help!

On a Eurail pass I bought in December, I happened to notice that in the Eurail traveller details, my birthday off by one day. It’s listed as one day too early/soon. I am pretty sure I entered my birthday correctly. I can’t figure out how to change this. Will this cause problems when I activate the pass and use it for travel?

I am thinking of purchasing a global pass as I will be travelling from Amsterdam to Germany, Austria and then Switzerland. Does the Eurail pass cover internal trips from Zurich to Zermatt? Do I get discounts for the gondola rides and trains in Zermatt?  Thanks

I am Furkan, I am currently an Erasmus student in the Netherlands and considering purchasing an Interrail Global Pass (not Erasmus Pass) to travel across Europe during my exchange period. My plan is to take multiple short trips (4-5 days each) and return to my Erasmus city in between. I will buy the 3 months in row Global Pass ticket.I understand that the Global Pass can only be used outside the country of residence, but I live very close to the German border and can reach a train station in Germany for about 4-5 euros. My plan is to purchase a ticket from my location (Netherlands) to Germany each time I travel, then use my Interrail Pass from there. I would do the same on my return journey—using my pass until Germany and buying a separate ticket back to my city. Would this travel pattern be allowed under the Interrail Global Pass rules, or would it violate any regulations?Additionally, I am a Turkish passport holder, but I currently have a Dutch residence permit valid until Oct

I’m travelling through Italy to Croatia with my family in August. We’re booked on the overnight ferry from Ancona to Split on a Friday evening and staying in Rome the night before.Please could anyone offer advice on the best route from Rome to Ancona? The obvious option is the circa 4 hour direct regional train. But there’s only one direct train that day that gets in in time for the ferry check in. So wondering whether we might be better to go via Bologna. It seems a very long way around but doesn’t take much more time and because there are lots of trains, we’d have options is trains are cancelled or delayed. And we’d bag another city and possibly some lunch in Bologna on the way. Is it sensible to go so far off the direct route though?We have first class passes so would benefit from Business class on Fercciarossa.What’s the scenery like on both routes?Any advice? Many thanks!
