Get ready to travel

Hi there! I am considering getting a Global Pass, but I am quite lost about how it works concretely. I can’t just go into any train just like that and show the pass if controlled, do I? One has tobuy a ticket at some point, right? So, how does it work in the field?I would be very grateful if someone could explain to me!

On 15 August I would like to travel with Nightjet 470 from Offenburg 23:35 to Hamburg 07:53.But the train is not available for sale yet. Does anyone know if and when the reservations will be available?If I find this journey in the DB planner, there is a notification:The stops Karlsruhe Hbf, Bruchsal, Heidelberg Hbf, Darmstadt Hbf and Frankfurt(Main)Süd are omitted. The train is diverted. The reason is construction work.That is fine with me. I don’t need these stops. But if I click at “Journey information” there is another notification:The stops Basel SBB, Basel Bad Bf, Freiburg(Breisgau) Hbf and Offenburg are omitted. The train is diverted. Hello, I am trying to book a ticket for the night train from Split to Zagreb (on the 4th of August at ~21h) but the rail planner app says no price result found and tickets might be sold out but when I look on the operator's website the train ticket is available for purchase. Does anyone know how to book it using the pass rather than having to pay for the full price ticket? 

I intend to use a global pass supplemented by a one country pass for an upcoming trip. Is it fine to have both loaded on the same device and switch between them as required? 

Hello, i am wondering if i book a few transfers on the inter rail planner and there are short transfers, if i get delayed and miss the short transfer will i get to board the next one or get refunded?  thanks

After purchasing several reservations on Eurail for our group of 4, traveling in Austria and Switzerland, I tried to make carriage and seat selections only to discover that Eurail does not allow me to do so, although the selections could be made on the operators’ sites when reservations are made there. I do not recall during the reservation process being informed by Eurail that seats cannot be selected with Eurail reservations, but they can be selected by purchasing the reservation directly with the operator.  If they had done so, I would not have purchased reservations on Eurail.So, I would like to get a refund for the reservations I just made today on Eurail and then repurchase the reservations directly with the operator and select seats.  How can I do this?  Eurail says that reservation refunds depend on the operator.  Will it require contacting the various operators?  This is an important issue to us, not only to have seats we enjoy, but for logistical reason.  We have several very

I have a 4-trip Interail pass, and when I try to book a seat for the Amsterdam–Berlin leg on 8th July 2026, and the Berlin–Praha leg on 10th July 2026, I get a message for every departure time stating that there is an error and the reservation cannot be made. Is it possible to board the train for those legs without a seat reservation?

I want to take the Berlin-Prague train, and it says that seat reservations are recommended. However, when I try to book, it won't let me. The reservations must be sold out. My question is: can they deny me boarding if I have a travel ticket (but no seat reservation)? I don't mind standing, it wouldn't be a problem; my fear is that they won't let me get on the train.

Il y a eu un cafouillage sur les dates les deux personnes ont pris, avec leur passes un interrail, des trains le 20 et 21 juillet pour y aller. Mes trains sont au 19 et 20 juillet. Est-il possible de basculer sur leur train pour être avec ces personnes ? Je demande cela, car en y regardant leurs trains ne sont plus disponibles et je me retrouverai dans d'autres trains sans ces personnes. Merci d'avance pour vos réponses.

I was planning to book a train from Milan to Napoli FR 37507 I have observed that the seat reservation session in EUrail had seats On your website However the Trenitalia(italy national rail) site said it was fully booked. May I know is the seat availability on the EUrail website up to date?

Is the interrail pass valid on the narrow rail track that runs from Bilbao to Ferrol via Santander and Oviedo?

I’m trying to book two seat reservations from London to Paris on 19 July. When I look at the seat reservations page of Interrail there are first class reservations available (I’d rather have second but they’re sold out). When I log in though, there is no way to book them. I’m rather losing my mind about this as presumably the few first class ones left will sell out. do I have to have a first class pass to book first class seat reservations for the Eurostar? (This is the only thing I can think of - I’ve got a second class pass).  am I missing something in the booking process? Any help welcome, I am stuck!

I want to book seat reservations with my friend, since we‘re planning on starting our interrail journey in august. When we select „add a traveler“ on the website, it says the action cannot be completed since our passes don’t have the same conditions. We both won our tickets and both have the global pass, she won it on DiscoveryEU and I on Europa-Union hamburg, so a local version of the competition. I don’t understand why it doesn’t work, since it’s the same pass. We really want to sit together so is there any way that we can book our reservations together? Thank u

I am travelling from the United States with my three daughters. We have four Eurail Global passes 10 days within 2 months, 1st class. Our plane lands in Madrid on 4 July 2026 in the morning. The first leg of our train journey will be that day. We need to ride the train to Barcelona in the early afternoon. I am logged in to the Eurail website and when I request 4 travellers for  1:00pm it shows me a 13:42 departure “Pass not valid”, a 14:42 departure “Seat reservations required from $56.80”. This is the same price it showed before I logged in. Why is the Global pass not working? and If this is the accurate price, what good is the Global Pass?

If my Interrail Pass is valid until 17 August, am I allowed to start my journey back home on 17 August at 2 pm, even if I don't arrive until the morning of 18 August at 8 am?

Hello  I have planned to travel from tornio itainen to helsinki by eurail global pass. As a pass holder, I need to reserve my seat. I have checked several website and apps like DB, SBB, Oebb, eurail. None of them reserve seat in finnish railway trains.My concern how would I able to reserve my seat from tornio itainen to Helsinki. I have heard that VR call centre or Train station are the only way to reserve seat in Finland.Is there any ( website/apps) where I can reserve my seat.Note: VR apps able to purchase ticket with reservation. There is no option of seat reservation only. Profound regards
