Hello hello !  So here is my situation : I will be travelling from London to Vilnus this coming month.When I got my Interrail pass I registered it with my french address before I moved to London.I’m puzzled on understanding if my 1st trip to Paris from London will be considered outbound or if the second one from Paris to Berlin will be considered outbound.Has anyone have any experience with this? Let me know !

I'm new to the community and I just organized and booked my first Interrail trip, spanning between six countries, departing from Italy to the most important cities in central Europe (Vienna, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris and Turin).I'm here to ask a question about reservations: is there a way to get on reservation-only trains without paying it? (I don't know, like standing instead of taking a seat :D) e.g. going to Paris from Amsterdam without paying 30+ euros and without changing 2/3 trains.Hope I can find a way, but if the reservation is the best option then it won't be a problem.Thanks!

Dear community, I have a Global 4 day pass and will be travelling from Amsterdam to Barcelona on July 16th or 17th. I am trying to reserve seats, but there seem to be problems in doing so. The booking tool mentions that prices are unavailable; however, it says this same thing for months ahead, so that is why I wonder if there are no trains available, or whether there is something else preventing me from reserving seats. I want to book as soon as possible, to ensure I can still reserve the seat :) Any help is highly appreciated! Best regards, Kaya

I read on this forum that we can get a 25% discount on train from Interlaken OST to Lauterbrunnen/Grindelwald using Eurail Global Pass. However, the OBB app or the ticketing machines are not showing the option of adding Eurail Pass as a discount.How to add Eurail as a discount for this journey? Can we use Eurail as a discount on other small trains/service, like going to harderklum, any Matterhorn viewing point etc etc etc etc and how?

I wanted to book sleepers on the Nightjet from Amsterdam to Vienna (and back) in October '23 and thought I was late booking in June, but the booking site states that tickets are not available.I called ÖBB and the attendant told me that the connections were not ‘freigegeben’ (open) and told me to try again in July. Does anyone know why that would be, normally you are supposed to be able to book the Nightjet up to 180 days in advance…I now look each day whether the booking is open, but knowing the reason for it not being open I may know what I am waiting for and when to try to book.Thanks!

Hi, new to this and was just wondering if there were only specific train companies you can use to travel with. Can’t seem to find information about it anywhere and the ability to use any international train companies seems a bit too good! If anyone could help would be highly appreciated.Thanks

I’ve been doing a lot of research but I just want to clarify all the steps but also ask questions. I haven’t purchased my eurail pass yet but I will soon as I am planning to travel in August. I plan to get 2 passes (both global x day passes). I’m traveling from Edinburgh to London. My mom is flying into London and meeting me there and we’ll travel over to Paris on a different date. I’ll be handling all the passes/tickets since it’s not my mom’s strong suit. My understanding is that I purchase my eurail passes first (I plan on purchasing from raileurope since it’s the cheapest). After that, I add the passes to my mobile eurail app?Obviously I don’t want to activate my passes yet since it’s only June and our first day of travel isn’t until August 2nd. Will adding the passes automatically activate my pass? How does pass activation for day of travel actually work? So for example. The first day of my trip is August 2nd from Edinburgh to London. I checked the eurail website and I need to pay

I am having difficulty making 1st Class seat reservation for 3 adults for IC 666 Rapallo to Milano Central Friday 23rd June at 11.41.I can purchase full price tickets but that defeats the purpose of the EURAIL Pass.Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 

Hi,I’m planning my trip as it shows below:Madrid - Barcelona Barcelona - Rome Rome - Paris Paris- StuttgartAs you see there should be 4 days of travel to these 5 destinations, yet the Itinerary Planner seems to be counting Madrid’s starting point as a day of travel. Am I wrong to think that the 4 days of travel in 1 month Pass (for $281) is just what I need? Why is the application telling me I need a minimum of 5 Travel Days in my pass?

I have a Eurail pass and am trying to determine the best way to make reservations. How is travel.b-europe different from Eurail.com reservations? In looking around travel.b-europe I see you can put in a seating preference which you cannot do on Eurail.com. I know it’s not guaranteed, but at least they ask. Does it matter which site I use for reservations? 

Hi, all:  We are two couples who will be doing our first Eurail trip for 23 days in September (1st class Global Pass).  We will be based in Oslo, Vienna and Bern for the most part but will take many day trips on trains from those cities.  We obviously would like to sit together, e.g. two seats here and two seats there.  When reservations are not required, should we get them if they are available and if we don’t get them or they are not available on a certain train, what are the chances of not getting a seat or being able to sit together; or, my biggest nightmare, having to stand in the aisle for the whole trip.  And a related question:  what is the easiest way to find out if a train has optional reservations?  I don’t think the European Rail Timetable shows this.We will be very grateful for any responses you can provide.

Hello! I would like to know if there is a possibility to book seat reservations on the same day of the departure from the train station rather than buying them online. My friends and I already booked seat reservations from Innsbruck to Rome but we don’t have them from Warsaw to Innsbruck because they were selling only paper tickets (the delivery time was too long). Hi! My question is about a specific train, which I’m hoping someone will be able to help me with.We’ve arranged an itinerary to and from Italy (using the Interrail website) which includes an overnight stop in Lausanne on the way out. When I first arranged the itinerary, there was a train shown on the website from Lausanne to Milan at 08:18, so I based the 2nd day of our itinerary around that train. Having subsequently checked on the Interrail website, this train is no longer shown, although it does appear on The SBB and Trenitalia websites, as well as the Trainline website. Is there a reason why the Interrail site is not showing it? Also, if the service is running, can we use our passes and if so, how do we go about booking seat reservations? Thanks in anticipation ,Andy

Hi,I‘m planning my Interrail in France this Summer and I have some problems right know with finding a train on my last day back home to Germany.I’ve looked in several regions and even in Paris but I only find trains who start late in the afternoon or even in the evening which means I always need two travelling days and I have to wait in Germany at some point in the night several hours before the next train leaves and I reach my home early the next morning. I live in Reutlingen in South-West Germany.It’s kind of frustrating that I can’t find any trains who leaves in the morning, even with expensive seat reservations. Often the Interrail App just shows me one single train each day, even from big train stations…It seems that this problem is only on my last day when I need to cross the German border.Maybe I’ve missed something but I could really need some help why this is the case and how I can solve it.Thanks in advance!

My friend and I are from the Netherlands and we are on an Interrail trip to Venice, Vienna, Budapest and Prague. We bought a 5 travel days for a month Pass. We did a lot of research but this morning was the first time we saw something about Inbound and Outbund trips, is it still possible to visit all these destinations? 

Hi, I would like to know if the Eurail can be used for the water taxi / ferry from Venice St Lucia to the Venice Port where like the shops and stuff are.

I’m looking at reserving seats between Milano Centrale and Geneva however I can’t find any direct trains to reserve seats between the two cities. Even weirder, I can buy full price fares on Trenitalia and Trainline for a direct train. I’ve checked OBB, the Interrail seat reservation service website, not to much avail. Can anyone help? I understand that there is an option to take multiple trains between the two cities, but I just want to take the fastest, most straightforward route as I am a first time interrailer.

Hello,on July 7, we will be travelling with a group of 30 people. We will go from Brussels to Zagreb, and are planning to go via Frankfurt and get the night train in Stuttgart. (Seat reservations for night train are booked.)My question is, do we need to book seat reservations for the ICE train from Brussels to Frankfurt? Because it says reservations are not required, but we are a big group and I am afraid that the train would be full if we have no seat reservations. The starting point of the ICE train is Brussels, so by definition the train would be empty when we would get on the train… But still wondering. (Maybe everyone else has seat reservations so that we cannot get on the train because all seats are reserved?)Thanks in advance!Paulien
