How to determine the start date of a global pass?

Hi there. I am a newbie to Interrailing but hoping someone can help. I have a 2nd class Interrail pass for my family and I to travel around Spain this summer. We are wanting to take the sleeper train from Paris down to Barcelona. I am keen to upgrade from a 2nd class to a 1st class sleeper as we are 4 - and with young kids I don’t want to share a cabin with 2 strangers and I’m sure nobody wants to share with us either! Is there a way to upgrade just 1 journey for the sleeper train. I’m happy to pay the extra - I just don’t know if it is even possible with the Interrail pass. Thanks!

Hi all !  We are taking a night train from Zurich to Amsterdam, the seat reservation is optional but we want to reserve it anyways. Though, when we try to, it’s says we need to send paper tickets by post, but we are moving a lot and cannot receive them. Do you know how we can just receive electronic tickets ?  Thanks !

Bonjour, je cherche à réserver une couchette sur le train de nuit Prague-Zurich. J’ai déjà planifié mon voyage mais j’aimerais réserver une couchette et je n’y arrive pas. Si je m’adresse directement au site tchèque, comment faire pour ne pas acheter le billet mais seulement la réservation ?

L’anno scorso ho vinto il pass interrail con DiscoverEU.Nel vecchio telefono avevo fatto l’accesso all’app discoverEU e RailPlanner. Avevo anche scelto il pass flex e scelto la data di partenza.Ora sul nuovo telefono sono riuscito a fare l’accesso ma il pass non è automativamente inserito. Se provo a cliccare Add a Pass non so che numero mettere. So che deve avere 6 cifre ma non capisco come recuperarlo.

I have this big doubt regarding a seat reservation, precisely from milano centrale to basel sbb, at the beginning of september: usually people suggest to book on Oebb app, but it says it's not available.I never booked a seat reservation on the official interrail website, because of the extra commissions, but it seems the only solution (beside Happyrail, which I've just discovered and I don't know if it's legit).My concern is not really about the fees: the interrail website requires a pass number, and mine is purchased but not activated yet (i wanted to activate it the day before the departure).So my two questions are:1) If i purchase the seat reservation on official interrail website, logging in with my profile (the same I purchased the pass), will it mean it will activate my pass, already? 2) is happyrail a safe website to book seat reservations? Hi there,I have the issue that I can't load my ticket with the QR code in the rail planner app.When I click on “show ticket”, it would just load forever, saying  “Loading your ticket. If this is taking a while… “. It never worked in the past, and this is my first travel day. There is no error or anything.I'm trying for 4 hours straight now,  I've let it load for 30 minutes, restarted the app a lot, restartet the phone, trying with LTE and wifi, let the app load after opening it and before proceeding.  I'm out of ideas and I'm currently traveling so I'm pretty afraid of a hefty fine as I currently don't have a ticket at all.Any help in timely manner would be super great!YoursJulleVersion 23.2.0Huawei P20 Pro

Hi, I’m new in Interrail. I’m traveling to Oslo this coming week and will be having an outbound travel day from the north to the south of NL, near the border picking up my travel companion. 1. Do I have to book a trip to the border? Or to the nearest train station in NL to where my friend lives? 2. How will I see that this trip is booked as one of my 3 Out/Inbound trips?  Thanks, Nants

what does Province mean in Traveler details? where you live now? or where you were born?

I purchased two Interrail 4-Day Passes (one for my daughter and one for myself) and activated both on my smartphone. My daughter now needs to use her remaining 2 travel days alone. She is traveling to Paris in two days.Unfortunately, transferring her pass to her phone is not working:Error on her phone: When she enters her last name and pass number, it says "This pass is already being used on another device." Issue on my phone: I cannot delete or deactivate her pass within my Rail Planner app. The "Move pass to another device" function only generates a QR code that redirects to a Google search page. How can I transfer my daughter's pass to her smartphone as quickly as possible? Since her trip is in two days, I would deeply appreciate your urgent assistance!

Any good ideas what i could use my remaining 2 travel days for. Most likely over a weekend (maybe taking a day or two off to allow for more options)I would start the trip from Karlsruhe (Germany) with regional trains(only have 1 in/outbound day left). For Switzerland and for regional trains in grand est(region of france) i am already covered.One of those days is an in/outbound day. (I kind of have a use for that one already if i want to get home an hour or so quicker ) Any good ideas, i was considering Paris, northern italy or maybe something in Austria.I still have time until 28. July to use them.

I have created a trip on my mobile. In doing so I made a couple of mistakes which I would like to correct but I can find no way of doing so. The option to Edit Trip only allows one to change its name and connect/disconnect to a pass. I would like to delete a journey and change the date of a journey but it seems to be impossible. Do I have to start again and re-create the entire trip?

I have already purchased my Eurail pass and have started to look through the time tables. I made one purchase to reserve a seat, but now I’ve come across “open seating; choose any available seating”. There is no button to click to reserve a spot on that train? Do I just show up to the station and hope that there is space for me on this train?Am I missing something as I click through the website?Also, if there is no further action needed at that point in the process, how do I add the specific train/time to my planner?

Hi all, I am trying to activate my pass and I´m at step 3 where I have to type in my passport number. However, the app only provides me with a numerical keyboard. My German passport number only has 1 number in it though, the rest are letters. How can I activate my pass now? Interrail is a bit ignorant, being a European project, not taking into account different passport numbers in the indivual countries. 

I have one Adult and one Youth second-class German Rail Pass. my son is 13.We need to travel from München Hbf to Peschiera del Garda on Friday 24 July 2026.We wanted to go via the brenner pass but that isnt operating ( and this was included in our pass )The route we are considering is:RJ 81, München Hbf 07:34 to Venezia Mestre 16:46 Frecciarossa 9750, Venezia Mestre 17:30 to Peschiera del Garda 18:46RJ 81 appears to be diverted via Salzburg, Villach and Tarvisio because of the Brenner closure.The German Rail Pass information says that DB-ÖBB EuroCity and Railjet trains operating between Germany and Venice are included, with a supplement required. However, when I try to reserve RJ 81 through Rail Planner, it says:‘One or more Passes don’t cover this journey.’ :/Could anyone please confirm:Are German Rail Passes valid on this diverted RJ 81 from Munich to Venice? If the pass is not valid for the full journey, exactly where does the German Rail Pass coverage end? How should I purchase the

Hi, currently on a train to Munich and both our passes have disappeared and I can’t add them manually.  Help!

Two years ago we had an unpleasant experience when we were on the Bernina Express.  Just as the ticket collector approached, my wife was unable to open her Rail Pass.  We are doing a similar journey in September and we want to avoid a similar occurrence.  I used AI to question what was the best strategy.  Basically it said that the app failed because it had a poor signal.     When the Rail Planner app detects even a sliver of data (like a 2G or spotty 3G signal on a mountain pass), its default behavior is to immediately reach out to the Interrail servers to check for updates. If that connection is weak or drops mid-request, the app hangs indefinitely on a loading loop or a blank screen.   The recommendation was to update the app when leaving our hotel the day of our trip across the Alps, and then to put the phone onto flight mode     By treating the app as a purely offline tool for the trip across the Alps one will bypass the network glitches entirely.I thought it would be wise to get

We are planning to begin our return journey on September 13 from Ljubljana.The plan is:  Ljubljana to Munich during the day, then Nightjet from Munich.  I want to book the Nightjet, so we definitely have a space.However, Im not sure if we want to spend the final night in Antwerp or Liège prior to going from Brussels back to the UK  on 15 September.My query is this:  do all night trains on this line stop at Liège?If I book to Brussels, can we still get off at Liège if we decide last minute?Is Antwerp or Liège best for a day?Thanks 

Hallo zusammen. Ich würde gerne Sitzplätze reservieren mit Interrail Ticket von London nach Dundee, bekomme aber immer die Meldung das das über die Interrail Seite wohl nicht funktioniert. Hat jemand einen Tipp wie ich online an eine Sitzplatzreservierung gerate? Vielen Dank.
