Train connections & reservations

Hi all,I have adventured without flying with my family for many years but this is my first time planning a trip using an Interrail pass. We’re planning a trip to Morocco next summer. If I can combine outward / inward train travel in the UK with the Eurostar it should come out as more economical then buying advanced tickets, but only if I can work out the reservations in Southern Spain!And this is where I am coming unstuck...I want to travel Barcelona - Málaga outwards, then either return the same way or go Málaga - Madrid - Avignon in July / August next year (yes, I really like advanced planning!!). I am using Rail Europe to check reservation prices and to get an idea of likely availabilty of reservations. Trouble is, if I request three or four reservations at once there are none available no matter how far in advance I ask to book. But if I ask for two, reservations are possible on many trains with only a week or two notice. Are there really only two pass holder reservations available

Hello everyone,I'm planning a trip and I'll be using a global pass for my train travels. I've heard that it's possible to book tickets directly at train stations without having to pay for individual tickets, but rather using the pass. Can anyone share their experience with this process? How does it work, and are there any specific steps or tips I should know about when reserving tickets with a rail pass at the train stations?Thanks in advance for your help!

I found the advice to contact interrail when my reservation email did not come. ybut how?? no phone number, not even an email adress.

Hello when i am looking at my reservations i cant find the local trains connecting me too the bigger stations, i saw them when i booked but not when i look at it now. 

Hello,I booked some seat reservations for me and my partner via the interrail website by adding us with our passes to a trip I created.In the Rail Planner App only I can see the Trip and more importantly the reservations in my account, she has no possibility to view or show the tickets on her phone.Am I missing something so we can view the reservations both or is this just bad design? Any help would be appreciated 

I made a seat reservation from Venezia Mestre to Rome Termini for my upcoming trip on September 19 on a departing train at 8:34 AM but now I wanted to catch an earlier same rout train whichstarts at 7:38 AM. Ca anyone suggest how to switch my existing reservation to a different train? Thanks

Hi, i have to travel todayUnable to book seat for Frankfurt to Paris I am not able to the book the seat, is there any issue with the reservation system?

We were booked to go from Frankfurt to Copenhagen by train from Frankfurt to Hamburg Hbf then Hamburg Hbf to Copenhagen. There was just one problem - the train to Copenhagen went from Hamburg Altona not Hbf and there wasn't time to make the connection. Fortunately DB were able to get us on a later train with seats reserved but we are arriving a couple of hours later than planned.It's definitely worth checking that the connections offered are correct and actually work!

If my ticket can't be scanned, what should I do? The route is Rome Termini-Bari, the controller tells me that he can't scan the QR code 

Hi, In the interrail planner it says that there are no more available seats for the eurostar from Paris to Amsterdam on this date, but in raileurope the seat still looks available. Is this possible? Or will I get an error later or have to stand?The times are also off by 5 minutes but I assume that’s a glitch.  

Hello!Interrail just announced relay strike action that will impact rail networks across the Netherlands on the 9th, 13th and 15th of September which affect my travels and I don’t know what to do now and need advice.Interrail states: “There will be no trains throughout the Netherlands on these days.” On the 9th I’ll travel from Berlin to Amsterdam, will this also be cancelled, how do I know?On the 15th I’ll travel from Amsterdam to Paris and the Thalys website does not state that these trains are cancelled (only a few due to construction), so how do I know if it is cancelled or not? 

Cuando planifico mis días de viaje en la app, en cada tramo de tren me aparece “Está listo para abordar”, “Puedes comprar una reserva de asientos si lo deseas, pero no es obligatorio” o bien “Este es un tren popular. Se recomienda hacer reserva de asientos, pero no es obligatorio”. Mi duda es (sobretodo cuando aparece la segunda o tercera frase) si puede que el tren esté completo y no dejen subir a pasajeros sin reserva o bien, como en nuestros trenes de cercanías, siempre queda la posibilidad de viajar de pie. 

Salve, devo partire lunedì mattina per Lourdes, mi avete consigliato roma >parigi e poi lourdes ma non trovo nessuna prenotazione né da torino né da milano…Invece di passare per parigi , quale è un alternativa per andare a Lourdes?Grazie!

Why when I look at my train journey plan and trip book seat does the app not allow me book through the app?

I am trying to look at trips from Salzburg to Prague in December and Eurail messages say they are waiting for an update from railway and to check back.  Is this typical behavior?  I get no results so cannot even see the routes and times.  Anyone have any experience with this?

Sto provando a prenotare i posti e mi dice che sono finiti i crediti ( che penso ricoprirono il costo della prenotazione a sedere) volevo perciò pagare il costo della prenotazione che era di 8€ ma credevo che il treno fosse lo stesso gratis tantè che sotto la scritta della prenotazione c’era scritto 16€ ( perché siamo in due ) e mi dice che non c’è più posto per prenotazioni gratuite infatti io volevo pagare ma non mi dà l’opzione . Aiuti ?

Why am I being charged to book seats…. They are not special….. I am trying to book 2 high speed trains and they want to charge me for one of them. I bought this pass because the seats were supposed to be paid already. How do I prevent being charged?

I am trying to book the 01:06 Offenburg to Hanau Hbf, on the 8th August (as shown in image). All signs point towards it being available, but when i reach a certain page it tells me the reservation ‘cannot be made’. Can someone help me find this trip elsewhere or diagnose the issue? Please!

I have a reservation from Lyon Part Dieu to Gare du Nord. However, I have discovered that the train I'm booked on starts at Lyon Perrache, which is near my hotel. Can I amend the reservation free if charge so that it starts at Lyon Perrache, or should I just buy a ticket for the journey between the the 2 stations - it's only a small amount.

I am trying to reserve seats from Brussels - Midi to London St Pancras, but when I enter Brussels the list of stations there does not include Midi. It does allow me to book from Brussels - Centraal to London St Pancras, but it goes to Midi and then we have to change trains and I want to avoid that.I know that others have booked from Midi - how do I get the computer to allow it please?

I assume this is not a problem as I have purchased my seat reservations for our Eurostar journeys between London to Paris.  However there appears to be a mismatch between the times shown both for departure and arrivals between the planner and the official Eurostar schedules.    As far as I can see the mismatch is for all trains available for booking this year.  

Hi there, I didn’t really find information for Interrail online, maybe not to many people travel in Poland…I want to take some IC trains to smaller places around Warszawa for example Lublin, Bydgoszcz  or Łódź. The rail planner app says I don’t need a reservation, but via Google AI I found out that there is an exception for Pesa Dart EMUs. I looked in the PKP App and found the symbol for reservations on some of these trains. Not my question: Is there an exception for people with interrail or is the Rail planner App wrong? The reservation is super cheap, but it is annoying to make reservations for interrail in the PKP App, because when you travel in a group you can’t make interrail reservations for several people at once. Is there a smart solution?Thank you so much!

Hi,I've been trying for two days to reserve seats on Iryo trains from Barcelona to Madrid and Madrid to Seville using the Interrail reservation tool. However, the tool only displays the following error message: Is this a known, possibly temporary problem, or is booking simply not possible?GreetingsVolker

Having seen how difficult it is to get to Lisbon from Madrid has anybody tried Madrid  to Seville then 3 hrs bus ride to Faro?Regular trains then to Lisbon take about 3hrs.
