Background: I am an experienced train traveler, but brand new to EurailPass and the Rail Planner app. For a summer 2025 vacation, I have purchased Eurail Global 15-day continuous passes for my wife and myself, added them to the Rail Planner app, and associated them with a My Trip. On the app, I found a pair of outbound and return rail journey and associated them with our Trip. Then, following the links on the app, I was directed to the Eurail website where I purchased seat reservations for those two journeys. I received the confirmation email with attached barcoded seat reservation tickets. My question: I can’t figure out how to associate the seat reservations with my journeys on the Trip in the app. Is that possible? If so, how do I accomplish it?Thanks in advance for your help. —Marne
Hello, so I read online that you have 2 travel days inside your home country. I live in Linz (Austria) and our first Country we want to visit is Prague. To reach Prague we have to take a train from Linz to Vienna and from Vienna to Prague. Is this possible because someone said that you can only take one train inside your homecountry?thank you in advance!
I’d go for the Caledonian Sleeper and explore the Highlands in the summer. With a birdbook in hand and a beer in the other.
Hi Eurail community. I travelled on EC9227 this morning which departed from Bruxelles Central at 0949 and arrived in Rotterdam Central at 1150. When I alighted the train at Rotterdam Central the only backpack on the rack above wasn’t mine. I believe someone else had picked up the wrong backpack as they were both black, both felt the same weight. Mine is Adidas brand with a flask bottle on one side and travel oral hygiene products on the other side. Inside there’s a shoe bag and a small soft case of my medicines, amongst other things. I’m hoping that the person who realised they picked the wrong backpack would come across this announcement. Please will you contact me to organise a handover exchange. I’m in Amsterdam for the next few nights.
I have been traveling from Amsterdam to south of France and so far, no major problems occurred. However, now I want to book a train from Avignon back to Amsterdam (or at least initially to Paris or Brussels-Midi) on August 1, 2026. Whatever option I try, I am unable to make any seat (and journey) reservation. I have tried virtually all departure times, different partial bookings and different itineraries (Paris, Lille, Brussels, Lyon), and I tried multiple times (the app often suggests: we can’t add this journey to your cart right now, try again later; or no seat prices are given), but it looks like I will be stuck in Avignon and cannot get anywhere.Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!
Planning a solo trip from London ,,using 7 day one month pass ...this SeptemberWondering what are the nearest stations i can get to from London .Presume London to Paris is first day or can i get any closer .Perhaps rail map or AI may help . A few starter trips may help ..thank you
Does anyone got the 5% discount on Hostelworld using Interrail Pass? I'm entering my pass number on the page but it doesn't work :/ https://benefitsportal.eurail.com/benefits/hostelworld/
I’m on the DeutscheBahn website and am trying to book a seat reservation for two ICE trains since I have an EURail Pass. I am hoping for this trip since I am hoping to leave as late as possible in the afternoon while getting back to Berlin before too late (especially since DB is notorious for being delayed/late these days). The first ICE trip from Paris to Mannheim says the train cannot be reserved at the moment. Does that mean if I book this, I won’t have a reservation for the first train, Paris to Mannheim? Would I even need a reservation if it’s an ICE train or do I need a seat reservation regardless since it’s a train in France? Thanks!
Dear Eurail community group.I would like to ask for your assistance regarding my Eurail Global Pass.I traveled on 25 July 2026 from München Hbf (Munich) to Innsbruck Hbf on Railjet RJ 85. I had a valid seat reservation for this journey.Unfortunately, I mistakenly forgot to add the journey to my Eurail Pass in the Rail Planner app and did not activate my first travel day before boarding. During the ticket inspection, the conductor scanned only my seat reservation QR code and did not ask to see or scan my Eurail Pass.I realized this mistake two days later and found that my Pass still shows that Travel Day 1 has not been used.Could you please advise me:Is there any way to register or account for this travel day after the journey? Does this affect the validity of my Eurail Pass or my remaining travel days? Is there anything I should do before continuing to use my pass for my upcoming journeys?I would appreciate your guidance.Thank you very much for your time and assistance.Kind regards,ji
Hi, 2 adults and 2 children with 15 in 2 months Global Interrail passes, we have everything set up in the app, everything activated and all tickets created. Our journeys start this week coming on 29/7/26. I have read that we should wait until the day to activate. I am concerned that we should now deactivate and reactivate on the morning of travel. But with children to sort out in the morning, we don’t want have to create more work on the day!! We would prefer to keep it activated (if our plans change we cannot travel later in the year). Is it ok to activate now? Are there other reasons why we should not activate now? As we have all the journey days activated and all tickets ready, can we change them after activation? Say if we want to change ne of the trains or travel days in late August, can we do so nearer the time? Or does the fact we had created the ticket when the validity started mean that we cannot then change? Can I please ask what activation sets in stone? Is it that you h
Hello everyone, I need some help because I was due to go away in July using my travel pass, but due to a family issue I wasn’t able to go. So I haven’t used my pass. Does anyone know if there’s a way I could, as a one-off, change the date to August?
Good morning everyone, we have a problem with our direct train from Wien to Krakow. We booked it 4 months ago (only the seat reservation), so we expected something could change, but here it's the interesting part. This ÖBB direct train (16.10 --> 21 24) seems to be cancelled, however the same train operator seems to provide the same train (because the code is the same, EC202) but with a different itinerary, which arrive at Krakow Plaszow instead of Krakow Glowny (16.10 --> 21.47). Therefore, we searched it on our Rail Planner App, but unfortunately we dind't find it and, at its place, we found a train with the same train code (EC202), with the same depart time, but with a different itinerary from the one provided by ÖBB, which arrive in a polish city really far from Krakow. What should we do? Our previous seat reservation can still be used, considering that the code is always the same? And which timetables or itinerary should we rely on? I assume the ÖBB one is more reliable, but h
When I try to book seats for St Pancras to Narbonne I found a very cheap seat but when I tried to pay the cost changes and increases. I also tried to book another seat on another train and that train has no seats available even though it was showing availability. here are 2 screenshots of the 2 seats I have tried to book. Can I get an explanation as to why this is happening? Thank you
Salve, dal 16 al 31/8/26 vorrei raggiungere Lourdes da Roma e ritornare.Qualche consiglio? Vorrei dormi re sempre in treno per risparmiare e non fare i cambi treno di notte o comunque con buio.…Grazie!
Hello, I’m based in London and would love to travel to Italy (Bologna) by train, but the journey length and cost seem daunting and I keep putting it off each year.I currently have a 4-day Interrail pass that expires in November but can get a refund if I don’t use it. At this stage, I’d need to pay at least £100 in seat reservations on top of the cost of the pass, plus one extra night’s stopover accommodation each way (I have insomnia so would prefer not to take the overnight train). The length of the journey also seems daunting. Last year I travelled from London to Aix-en-Provence by Eurostar+TGV and loved the journey - the scenery was beautiful - but it only took one day so it felt manageable. I would want to split the Italy journey into two days.My friends and family say I should just take a plane (I haven’t flown for 9 years) but I am worried about climate change.I’m stuck in a rut and would be grateful for any advice please. Many thanks in advance!
I am a uk resident but starting my journey by flying out to Warsaw. Can I use my global pass on both the Eurostar from Brussels back to the UK and then the uk domestic train to Scotland three days later?
I’m planning a rail trip to Tuscany with my wife. We are both seniors. Leaving from Newcastle. We plan to break the journey and stay somewhere like Arles for a night or two then onto Lucca. We plan on staying in Lucca for a week or so. Then onto Como for a short stay. We will be visiting Belgium to make a trip to see the Menin Gate memorial. Any advice would be welcome.Thank you.
Hello. My wife and I are staying in Bellinzona, Switzerland for five nights and doing day trips from there. But wondering if we should cut it short a day or to see areas not close enough for day trips in Switzerland? I'm seeing a lot of scenic train trips, as well as lake cruises that we can use with the Eurail pass, knowing that some of them are only discounted. We have four days of our Eurail pass that have not been booked. Thanks
Hello everyone! I was hoping someone here on this community could assist me with my problem. When I activated my Interrail pass, I think I must’ve forgotten to add a specific start date. Yesterday I wanted to book a train and realized my validity period was set from the beginning of July to August. The problem is I won’t be starting my journey till the middle of August. Is there any way I can change my date, or request a compensation? In my app it says that it’s not possible to change the travel period anymore, but I mean I haven’t used any travel dates at all, so my pass would just expire without being used any time. I would be extremely grateful for any help with my situation. Thank you!!
Any feedback as to how the new Schengen rules affect crossing borders by rail when travelling on a UK passport. After entering the Schengen area and lodging fingerprints etc we are led to understand that some other Schengen area countries still want to check biometrics when you cross their border from the first Schengen country. How does it work in reality?
Please excuse my lack of knowledge but I'm new to thisI purchased 2 global passes (7days) and my question is can I simply add reservations and tickets I have purchased from both this site and Rail Europe to the pass before leaving for the trip in September
Hi everyone!I’m looking for advice on the best route to travel from Luxembourg to Frankfurt on August 24th using a 1st Class Interrail Pass, aiming to avoid mandatory seat reservations (or keep extra costs to 0€).So far, the best option I've found is this one: 09:21 Luxembourg ➔ Trier (10:21) | Replacement Bus 10:41 Trier ➔ Koblenz (12:36) | RegionalBahn (RB) 12:56 Koblenz ➔ Frankfurt Main Hbf (14:21) | ICE As far as I know, this route requires 0 € in seat reservations (since ICE trains within Germany don't require mandatory reservations, and RB/buses don't either).A couple of questions for those familiar with the area: Is this indeed the best connection, or is there a faster, more scenic, or more reliable alternative? Are 20-minute connection times in Trier and Koblenz safe enough considering potential replacement bus delays or DB connections? Thanks a lot for any tips or recommendations!
traveling Barcelona Sants to Vilafranca del penedesNone of the stations on the Rodalies R4 line appear in the search function. The "Add journey manually" option is also missing. As a result, you cannot add the journey to your Mobile Pass.Rail Planner version 52.3.0 on iPhone
