I have a 4 day interrail pass. In the app, there is no way of adding journeys to the pass, so all days show as available. The reservations were booked via Rail Europe and SNCF, so only the Rail Europe show, that’s fine I have the others electronically and on paper. BUT these trips cannot be added to the pass to show a QR code. I don’t think proof of purchase of the pass will wash with the ticket controllers. If you press on add a journey, it only takes you to the planner and purchase of reservation. Cannot enter a unique reference. I think this app was designed in the 20th century!
I am travelling Bangor-Nice tomorrow. Should I upload that trip in its 3 separate journeys (3 trains) which take place on the same day, or as one. The proposed journey on the planner does not have the Eurostar time for the train I have a reservation on.
I am looking to travel from Rovaniemi to Lulea or Boden in time for the departure of the night train to Stockholm. Because of poor service on the railways here, I will need to take a bus from Kemi to Haparanda at the border (this is definitely not included in the pass). However, though there are only a few trains per day from Haparanda to Lulea, the Interrail app is allowing me to add a bus service to my passport that runs at a more ideal time. The bus is listed as Bus 20 from Haparanda to Skelleftea stopping at Lulea where I am going. No operator is listed. Because this service is on the Interrail system and can be added to the pass, does that guarantee that the pass will be accepted? It could be a bus replacement service for a train but I can find no information about this bus route on the internet so I cannot guarantee it.
One of us will be turning 60 on day 3 or 4 of a 4day Eurail pass. Would she be able to purchase a senior pass or would she have to purchase the pass based on her age at the first day using the pass?
Hi - has anyone done this trip, and could you recommend places to stay?
Hi, this is my first post on the forum and I’m currently starting to plan a month-long interrail trip for me and 6 of my friends for next summer! We’re looking to travel from england, mostly around western europe ideally and not sure what the first steps would be for planning this trip? We’re starting early so we can plan an itinerary far in advance. We want to go to some popular tourist areas but also some less popular places with good scenery and food! Does anyone have advice which would help us plan, or for how we can look for cheap but reliable accommodation? I’m also unsure on how best to plan a good route which makes the most of our time. Would it make sense to spend around 2-3 days in each country, so maybe we could visit around 10? We are also all girls and will be 18 when taking the trip, so does anyone have advice for how to remain safe while travelling?Sorry I know this is a lot of questions, any help would be much appreciated!! Thank you so much!
My partner and I are planning to buy two Interrail Switzerland One Country Passes for a trip to Switzerland, we are staying in Grindelwald from 14-17 September. I wanted to confirm a couple of things about regional coverage in the Jungfrau area.1. Are the regional trains between Grindelwald, Wengen, Lauterbrunnen and Mürren fully included with the pass, or only discounted?2. Are the boat rides on Lake Brienz/Lake Thun fully included?3. Is there a discount on the Grindelwald-First cable car and the Männlichen cable car (from Grindelwald and from Wengen)? If so, what percentage? Thanks very much for your help.
HI all Has anyone recently made this trip? We are traveling down on Paris sleeper and want a train on 3rd of September into Barcelona. Seat61 mentions bus replacement maybe? Travelling with young son so would like to know what I'm doing and make the connection after arriving at 10.10am.Thanks
Is there a way to turn off tranfers by public transport. As the railplanner keeps suggesting to do the last by public transport instead of just staying on the train(which is 2min slower)Or do i just have to manually add the the train from Wien to Budapest-Keleti, because i am not get the route suggestion that i actually want from the search.
The return international journey (typically Patras-Ancona or Bari) stretches over two days: does this mean that the journey has to be begun at least two days before the expiry of the pass, or can one simply embark on the last day of validity?
Hello! I am currently in Rome for my last destination in Italy. In a few days I will return to my country of residence (France) with an inbound/outbound journey. However, I can’t activate my trip because it says that I no longer have any available travel days. How can I do this? wishing you a good day!
Hi everyone,I have a couple of quick questions regarding how the Leaderboard works in this community: Is there an overview available showing how many points you earn per specific action (such as creating a post, replying, or receiving a like)? Are there any prizes or rewards for reaching the top spots on the leaderboard? Thanks in advance!
Why are budget trains -- like flixtrain, govolta, ouigo -- not included in interrail? It seems counterintuitive, if they have the lowest running costs I would expect them to be the easiest to include because what interrail pays should be ample for them if it is enough for premium operators? It just doesn’t make sense to me.
Hi Interrail community, I have made a friend last week on the ferry from Ancôna to Igoumenista on the 8th and 9th august. We spend 16 hours together but I was too dumb to remember taking his contact to stay in touch and was a bit in a hurry when leaving. He was solo traveling across greek mountains. I remember he is ending his trip in Athens by the end of August.Help me to hear the rest of his stay in Greece. By any chance, Laura
Hi there!I’m a first-time interrailer, planning to cross from Ancona to Split by overnight ferry in about a month’s time. While I have travelled on ferries before, I’ve never slept on one, so I have a couple of questions:When going through the reservation process, I noticed that I could either book an internal cabin for EUR100 (pre-discount), or a “Poltrona” for EUR10. Now, google translate returns “armchair”, but that only tells me so much. I’m picturing something like an airline seat, in which a frugally-minded traveller could sleep with the use of a neck pillow or something similar. How accurate is this picture, and is this something people do on overnight ferries like this, or will I stick out like a miserly sore thumb? How often are ferries like this delayed or cancelled? I was running my plan past Mum and she pointed out that this connection in particular is a significant point of failure. How strong a contingency plan should I have in mind?I have the ticket on freeze until the 2
Hi. UK passport holders but resident in France. We are planning a journey that would start from France into Switzerland and end entering France from the UK. Would a Eurostar train direct from , say, Brussels (but transiting through France) mean we are breaking the rules?
Hello, I’m still planning our trip and hoping someone can help again! We are 2 seniors and plan to travel from Newcastle to Lucca via London, Lille, Avignon, Lucca, Milan, Lille, London Newcastle. I plan on buying 5 day Interail Global Plus Pass tickets. Will these tickets include seat reservation costs or will we still have to pay a reservation fee for our seats?
Devo andare da francoforte ad amsterdam e dal sito non mi fa pagare il costo di prenotazione cpme posso fare?
I am booking a train from Paris to Valence d'Agen, which requires seat reservation, when I arrive at Paris on plane on the same day. I am afraid if the flight is delayed then I will not be able to catch the train. Should I:Book the train and pay for seat reservation now Do not book the train until flight is confirmed to be on time for the train scheduleI have a feeling that A is a better option, but what if I do miss my train? Will I have to pay for seat reservation again?
My travel plans have changed and I need to cancel several seat reservations made through Interrail, most notably the night sleeper Zurich/Budapest, in both directions (single person room) and the night sleeper Budapest/Bucharest both directions (couchette). The “Exchange and refund conditions for reservations” page gives information on this, but no links on how to actually do it! Can you help please? Thanks.
Hi everyone! I’m planning to travel with Interrail in September and was wondering if there are any active promo codes or sales available right now? Thanks in advance! I'm looking for some great places to visit in Austria. Since I'll be traveling by train, I'm specifically searching for scenic mountain areas, cozy towns, or hiking spots that are easily accessible by public transport.Have a nice weekend!
It is very confusing, it says ‘ticket is valid for section of the journey only’ I don’t understand if I can book this with an Interrail pass or can just hop on board without the reservation? Anyone that had this before?
A couple of questions. Every single train I’m trying to book from Offenburg Germany to Bern Switzerland on 10-3-26 says this. I have a global pass. I’m only trying to book a seat to guarantee I can get on a train. What do I do now? Also, I read somewhere on a forum on here that unless a reservation is compulsory I can just hop on the train and show my pass. Is this true? How does the individual train company get paid for the trip?Any insight would be awesome. I’m really stressing over this and I know it can’t be that hard. Although it would definitely help if I was a little more technologically literate.🤪
